Sheep RFID RIS

Please find attached an appendix from the recently released RIS by ABARE regarding the various options for future sheep traceability.

One of these options is an enhanced mob based movement. The rules for this are detailed below and would involve considerably more effort and cos at EVERY sheep sale.

Ashley Copping our Southern Regional Manager in Melbourne has decided that the time has come for her to move on to a new challenge.

Ashley finishes on 30 December 2013.

Euthanasia Rules

Tristan Jubb who has been undertaking the recent Euthanasia courses has provided teh following information regarding the current law related to animal euthanasia. Please note that these will be replaced with new laws once the Livestock Management Act comes into place.

Electronic NVD Project

Members are advised that LSAV has been successful in obtaining grant funds to undertake the eNVD project. This project will involve saleyards as part of the trial phase. The project will commence shortly with trials expected to start in early 2014. This information is for members only and is not to be redistributed as the government has yet to announce the grant funds publically.
